Tolmie's Tales
Bigfoot Press is devoted to encouraging hikers of all ages to get outside, pause occassionally, and enjoy natures greatness. Insider tips are invaluable in making the most of your time, and what better insider than bigfoot.
Our guide for this experience is Tolmie, a preteen bigfoot living with his family and friends near Mount Rainier Wilderness area. Tolmie is named after Dr. William Fraser Tolmie, an industrious surgeon, botanist, and politician, born in the Scottish Highlands in 1812.

In the summer of 1833, after helping to establish Fort Nisqually near Tacoma for the Hudson's Bay Company, Dr. Tolmie became the first westerner to visit what is now Mt. Rainier National Park when he and his guides Lachalet, a Nisqually Indian, and Nackalkat, a Puyallup Indian, climbed to the summit of Hessong Rock near Mowich Lake, and the peak which today bears his name, Tolmie Peak.

Readers are invited to join us in our quest by sharing your experiences and insider tips. Visit bigfootpress.com and order your own Tolmie. Snap a few pictures and post them along with your tips on the website, and together, we can ecourage people to get outside!
